Extended Proofreading FAQs
Key questions about the 18,000-word Extended plan, six-business-day workflow, multi-file consistency checks, limits of proofreading, and final delivery.
Who is Extended Proofreading designed for? +
It is designed for authors with long, structurally complete academic documents such as multi-section research papers, thesis or dissertation chapters, reports, monograph material, or combined journal submission packages that need a final language and consistency pass.
How much text is included? +
The plan covers up to 18,000 words. If your package exceeds that limit, send the full scope so the additional volume can be reviewed before work begins.
What is the standard turnaround? +
The standard Extended turnaround is 6 business days for an in-scope package. The schedule should be confirmed against the actual files, deadline, complexity and any optional requirements.
What is the suggested price? +
The suggested price is ₹20,000/- for up to 18,000 words on the standard six-business-day schedule. Urgent work, excess word count or requirements outside proofreading may need separate pricing.
Can I submit several chapters or files together? +
Yes. Connected chapters or document components can be supplied together when they form one proofreading package. Sending them together is useful when terminology, abbreviations, labels and presentation conventions must remain consistent across files.
What does “Everything in Journal-Ready, plus” mean? +
It means the Extended plan retains final journal-facing checks such as captions, headings, labels, numbering, spelling conventions, visible citation/reference presentation and cross-component consistency, then adds broader harmonization across longer sections and supplementary material.
Do you harmonize terminology and abbreviations? +
Yes. Recurring terminology, abbreviations, capitalization and spelling conventions are compared across the document so obvious variants can be standardized where the intended convention is clear.
Are tables, figure captions and supplementary text included? +
They can be included when supplied within the confirmed package. We check their language and visible consistency with the manuscript, including captions, labels, callouts and numbering where applicable.
Will you verify every reference source? +
No. Extended Proofreading checks visible citation and reference-format consistency within the provided material; it does not independently research, retrieve or fact-check every cited source unless a separate service is agreed.
Will you rewrite weak chapters or change my argument? +
No. This is final-stage proofreading. We correct surface-language problems and limited obvious clarity issues, but major rewriting, restructuring, argument development and substantive editing require a different service.
What files do I receive at the end? +
You receive a tracked-changes version showing proofreading corrections and a clean final proofread version. Any additional deliverable should be agreed before the project starts.
What should I send with the manuscript? +
Send the latest master file, all related components to be harmonized, the exact deadline and time zone, preferred English variant, citation or journal style, institutional guidelines, and any terminology or formatting conventions you want preserved.
